It was a complete team effort once again for the Heat in a 106-105 victory over the Nets, propelling Miami into the Eastern Conference Finals. The Heat held on in the final minute after two Vince Carter baskets cut the lead to one. New Jersey called timeout after rebounding Gary Payton's missed jumper with 1.4 seconds to play, but the inbounds pass never made it to Carter, who stumbled trying to get free. Winning in very similar fashion to Game 4, the Heat had six players score in double figures, led by Antoine Walker's 23 points. Dwyane Wade scored 21 points, adding six rebounds and six assists. Carter and Richard Jefferson each finished with 33 points for the Nets. Pat Riley's return to the conference finals will be his first as a coach since 1997. The Heat will await the winner of the Detroit-Cleveland series.
